Happiness

I think everyone struggles to be happy all the time, and although you don't always have to be happy I really wanted to share with you how I have learnt to be a more positive and joyful person. We all have times on your lifes were smiling is not a part of your day, or most of the time we just get cot on the stress of work or school and we aren't enjoying life anymore.
You have to find comfort on the simple things: you should be happy because you are wearing your favorite sweater, you bought your favorite flowers, you are wearing your favourite perfume, or just because it is a beautiful day.
You have to surround yourself with positive and happy people.
You have to find your happy place and it doesn't have to be necessarily a place it can be an activity like swimming, jogging, ridding a bike, painting, reading, watching your favorite series or YouTube videos, listening to music, meditate, speak to someone you lives far away from you... You just have to found something you can include in your daily routine that is going to put you in a great mood.
Pamper your self : take a relaxing bath when you are feeling particularly down and do a face mask, moisture your body, massage your head, use a new bath bomb, or shower gel... Whatever makes you feel relax and especial again.
And remember to always try and be the reason your friends are happy and they will do the same for you. Don't take live to seriously and take the time to enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffe or your favorite treat or a nice laugh with your friends or family.

New year's resolutions

5 tips to keep your new year's resolutions

I think there isn't a single person what has never failed to accomplish a new year's resolution. Some people really struggle with keeping their resolutions and in the end they never accomplish their goals and this is obviously really discouraging, so today I am going to share with you some tips that I find make keeping your resolutions a lot easier.

1- Set realistic goals
If you want to succeeded you have to set for your self goals that you actually can accomplish and their success has to depend exclusively on you, on your determination and work. Let's say your goal is to read 50 books but you are a slow reader and you have never read a book in less that 2 moths although it is possible to read 50 during that year you are most likely going to fail, so instead of trying to establish a goal of 50 books because 50 books is everyone else's goal try and set your self a goal that fits your personality for example lets say in 2014 you have read 7 books make your goal for 2015 to read 10 books. This is also going to help you stay motivated and you are less likely to give up because you feel that you are actually close to complete the "challenge".

2- Set a limited number of resolutions
If you set for a year 20 resolutions it is going to be a lot harder to accomplish your goal than if you have only set 5, some people even defend the perfect number of resolutions is 3. Each person as the freedom to set whatever number of resolutions they feel works for them for example I always make about 7/8 resolutions because from previous years I know that's the number that works for me. The important thing is that you have to be able to focus on all your resolutions.

3- Tell someone - support can really make the difference
If you feel that you are going to struggle to keep your resolutions or a certain resolution don't be afraid to ask for support. Having a support system can be the key for success: tell someone you trust (a friend, a family member, a doctor, ...) your intention and how important it is for you to keep your resolutions and also your worries that you might not be able to accomplish it alone and I'm sure they will be glad to help you. What they can do for you ? They can remind you of your goal, they can tell you off when you are not in track, they can just listen you, they can provide you with their advice ...

4- Your resolutions can't be to wide or to restrict
For example you want to make friends , your goal should not be make 65 friends and neither it should be make 1 friend. In the first case it is really difficult to make such a high number of friends and in the second case (if you are a naturally sociable person) it feels like you are not even trying there's almost no effort put into that goal. So try and make your resolutions as clear as possible and this is going to help you go to the bottom of the question and solve whatever you were lacking in a more effective way.

5- Keep a journal of the process
Writing what you are expirience will help you not only to remember what you want to achieve but it will also shows you that you can overcome all obstacles and it is really fun to read the journal on the end of the year and remember the work you put on achieving your aim. If you don't like to write you can also compose a journal with photo or songs or blog posts you feel express what you are feeling.

So I hope you have found this post in some way helpful as you might have notice it's my first blog post but I am going to post a lot more from now on. I am going to write at least on post per week.

New year, new blog

Hi ! My name is Carolina and I'm 16 years old soon to be 17. I have always dreamt of owning a blog and I thought this would be the perfect time to do it. I'm from Portugal so English is not my first language so I'm apologizing in advance for any grammar mistake or any misspelling words. I will be posting lifestyle related posts, a bit of everything I guess. Make your comfortable and I would love for you to join me in this urban laid-back adventure.
